My MAX experience began when the tank turned up at my house. Eagerly I unpacked and set it up, which was a breeze. I was impressed with the thought and design that had gone into the whole system. I filled up with fresh RO water and added the sand and salt.
Once the water had cleared I added the live rock and let the tank cycle. I saw a very small cycle and within two weeks I was adding some soft corals. A couple of weeks after that the first fish went in, a cleaner wrasse and a humbug damsel along with some inverts.
So far the MAX has been a joy to own, I clean the glass, empty the skimmer and clean the sponge filters every couple of days then change some of the water every two weeks and that’s about it. It really is that easy, the rest takes care of itself! It really is easy to set up and run, and it requires a lot less maintenance than my 5 foot tank, so much so I am now getting rid of that and focusing on the MAX.
